Alaikaaitchish (Is Good to Look At) was born in Crow Agency, MT on March 10, 1998 to Spike Guardipee and Robin Lee Caufield. Jessie was a Montana girl through and through. She grew up in both Pryor and Billings and attended schools in both communities.
In 2016, Jessie graduated from Plenty Coups High School in Pryor. High School sports were important to Jessie during her school years and she played both basketball and volleyball. She was known to her teammates as a hard worker and always reliable. After graduation she attended Salish Kootenai College in Pablo, MT. Jessie returned to Billings after college and began working as a coach for Island Mountain.
Jessie was well-known for her beautiful singing and her fierce loyalty to her family. When her little sister, Josey, required open heart surgery in Boston, 10-year-old Jessie raised funds for her by singing at the Billings Thursday Night Fights. She raised over 10k with her talented voice to help Josey get the medical care she required. Jessie was proud to be a true Kaala’s girl and, growing up, she was more often with Kaala Betty than not. She was delighted by her nieces and nephews and was a devoted aunt to Mylee, Jackie, Ryder, Eli, Tal, James Jr., Roddy, Aria, Tayjon, Tyran and Za’Karah.
In 2020 Jessie and Clayton were blessed with two beautiful girls, Alvina Lee and Alayna Vee ThreeIrons. The twins just celebrated their second birthday and they have been Jessie’s greatest loves. Seeing her blossom into a wonderful mother has been a joy to her family.
Like Jessie, the girls have been raised in Billings but already know Pryor as their home.
Jessie had many strengths and interests. She made regalia and enjoyed sewing and beading as much as she loved dancing Crow Style at powwows. This was a passion she was already teaching to Alvina and Alayna. Jessie was proud of her Apsaalooke (Crow) culture and traditional ways and honored her Kaala Betty by keeping them. She was a member of the Night Hawk Society, a member of the Big Lodge Clan and a child of the Ties The Bundle clan. From 2008 to 2012 Jessie played in Little League and received the King of Swat award each year for her phenomenal batting. She never lost her love for the game and continued to play as an adult. Jessie felt most herself when she was riding horses and roping; a true cowgirl at heart. She loved to laugh and her family and friends loved to see the world humorously through her stories and observations. Jessie Jane Guardipee made the world a brighter, better, place and the deep love her family has for her will be cherished and shared with her beautiful girls as they grow.
